Forged from the musical grit of Detroit, Justin Alexander has never been one to conform to the industry standard, focusing more on trying to create it. Whether rocking out to a sold out crowd on one of Detroit’s historic concert stages, or simply serenading the patrons of one of the city’s more intimate clubs, there’s no denying that Justin Alexander has become one of the cities’ most sought after performers. Blending elements from across different genres to create his own unique style of pop-punk-rock, Alexander has proven to be a tough act to follow, consistently winning over crowds with nothing more than a song, his voice, his guitar and his larger than life charisma.
With the gift of youth on his side, a young Justin Alexander set off on a journey through the portals of music that would shape his life and future career. A creative force since first picking up the guitar at age 13, Justin Alexander honed his skills grinding along the back alleys of Detroit’s famed Woodward Avenue. Writing songs that depict life through his eyes, Alexander has become a prolific songwriter and is currently working on his debut EP which will feature his hit single Woodward Avenue, as well as the highly anticipated Back in Detroit. The latter of which has landed him numerous auditions, prompting the producers of Green Day’s Broadway production, American Idiot, to fly him out to LA for the lead role, as well as a deep run on American Idol that had their producers scrambling to film a music video at Ford Field for this soon to be released smash hit.
